On Sunday, 11/14, our high school athletes competed in the fun and always competitive Nike Cross Nationals Midwest Regional meet.  Complete Results. We had a lot of runners compete in this meet—4 freshmen from Waubonsie Valley H.S., a whole slew of Open Race runners from Neuqua Valley H.S. who finished 2^nd to a tough York team, and a Championship team and individuals that finished 4^th in the Midwest!

I would just add that each year the Naperville Track Club brings more and more athletes to this meet to represent the great running community of Naperville.  I am proud of all who competed this weekend, and whether you had a great race or a mediocre one, use that experience to benefit your running future.  There are some tough runners across the 4 states in the Midwest region… this weekend we saw some of the deepest teams we’ve ever had in the Nike meet.

The Varsity team is awaiting final word on whether or not they have made the selection for the National meet in Portland, Oregon.  Chances are slim, but we’ll find out for sure within the next couple of weeks.

This fall, The Naperville Track Club is proud to offer high school athletes a chance to compete in the Nike Cross Nationals series in Terre Haute, Indiana. IHSA Rules prohibit high school athletes from competition until the official season has ended; therefore, Coach Todnem will work with athletes in this camp after the official cross country season concludes on Saturday, November 6 at the state championship. 

First practice date: November 8, 2010 

DEADLINE: Let Coach Todnem know if you plan on running at the meet on 11/14 by MONDAY, NOVEMBER 1.  

*Include in the email the athlete’s name and year in school.

Rescheduled Meet and Added Practice

Due to the rescheduled middle school conference meet which will now be held on Thursday, October 28, we’ll be holding an additional practice this Friday, October 29. Feel free to come to either – or both! If you are unable to attend either practice but still intend to compete in the Rockford meet on Saturday, be sure to email a coach and let one of us know!
