USATF Illinois Championship – November 15, 2011

Girls in the Midget Division prepare to race

This past weekend, NTC had the most participants EVER in a USATF-sanctioned XC meet! Complete Results Here. We were represented by a total of 36 athletes – and all of them ran well! For some, it was their first race; for others, a step towards the national meet in December, which will be held in Myrtle Beach, SC. The conditions made good times difficult – an incredibly soggy course plagued with sinkholes, in addition to strong gusts of wind made this an immense challenge. Despite the harsh conditions, our athletes ran some impressive races. We had two individual champions – Emerson King (Midget Boys Division) and Connor Horn (Youth Boys Divison), as well as won every race where we entered enough runners to field a team (Midget Girls and Bantam, Midget, and Youth Boys). NTC Athletes Compete at Naper-Prairie Conference Championships

Last night, over 45 athletes who have participated in our summer running camps or fall XC series competed in the District 203/204 cross country championships, held at Comissioner’s Park. Full Results.

I went through the results carefully and tried to find all of the athletes who have participated in our program. Please e-mail me at steve_saul@ipsd.org if your athlete is missing from the results or there is an error.

After logging the miles over the summer, these athletes’ success in the fall is a testament to the hard work they’ve continued to put in with their middle school coaches and teammates throughout the season. We can’t wait to see some of these athletes for club competition over the next month once they are finished with team obligations. Fall Camp Information – 2011

Camp Information

We’re now in our 7th season of holding a fall camp in South Naperville! The Naperville Track Club meets for practice and some competitions after the conclusion of the fall middle school cross country season. All athletes who have an interest in running, regardless of school or address, are invited to participate. Our primary focus at this camp is to provide our athletes with an opportunity to learn about the sport, grow as athletes and individuals, and have fun! We are fully insured as a USATF member organization. Whenever possible, we will field teams or send individuals to compete at local and national meets. Come out an join us this fall!

Location

Due to a change in the fee structure at District #204 and Naperville Park District facilities, we are moving to Patterson Elementary, beginning this season. This school, located in the Ashbury subdivision, provides us with safe running routes, access to a large park nearby, and a place to seek emergency shelter.
